About
Numerous dermal fillers exist that can be used to fill lines and add volume to areas of the face, but Radiesse has additional benefits. Radiesse not only fills, but also contains collagen-stimulating properties to enhance skin tone and texture, add elasticity, and naturally build volume to the injected area.
What is Radiesse and how does it work?
Radiesse offers instant results as it can add volume and fill lines in areas such as the cheeks and nasolabial folds. This calcium-based filler is different from hyaluronic acid-based fillers because the calcium will help to build collagen in the injected area. It will leave natural volume in the area even after the product itself has been metabolized by your body.
Radiesse gained FDA approval for treating volume loss in not only areas of the face, but also the hands. This is the only filler that can be used in this area.
How Radiesse works:
The calcium-based gel provides instant lifting and filling results that will subside about 12 weeks post-injection as it will be metabolized.
The collagen-stimulating substances contained within the filler will begin to work immediately but the full result will be noticed at 12 weeks post-injection and can last up to 18 months.

Due to its collagen stimulating abilities, Radiesse is considered not only a filler but also a skin rejuvenator. Besides adding volume, Radiesse also enhances skin tone and texture, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and firms the skin.
Which areas can be treated with Radiesse?
Radiesse can be used to fill almost all areas of the face. This excludes the tear troughs and lips. It is commonly used to treat the cheeks, forehead, temples, and jawline. It is also often used to contour and enhance smaller areas including the nose and chin. Besides treating the face, it can also be injected into the back of the hands to fill the lost volume caused by aging.
What can I expect from my results?
You will notice an immediate result from Radiesse as it will lift and fill the injected area. But these are not the only results as some will be noticed over time. During the 12 weeks following the treatment, collagen stimulation will occur which will smooth and tighten the skin.
Radiesse is unique in that its dilution can be modified to give it additional collagen-stimulating properties and less filling capabilities. This will enhance its skin rejuvenation effects.
How long do the effects of Radiesse last?
The instant volume noticed from Radiesse lasts only 12 weeks, but the additional effects caused by collagen stimulation will begin to subside within 12 to 18 months.
Are there any side effects associated with Radiesse?
The side effects caused by Radiesse injections are no different than other facial fillers. For the week following the treatment, it is common to experience bruising, swelling, and redness in the injected area.
How long does the treatment take?
With safety being our top priority, our injectors work precisely to create the best results for each patient. Most filler treatments take approximately 45 minutes to one hour.
